CARE & MAINTENANCE

ALUMINUM.

Aluminium is a popular material for outdoor furniture due to its versatile properties.

To increase the longevity of your furniture, wash regularly with a non-abrasive mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. This will remove dirt, body oils, chemicals and other substances. Repeat if necessary.

BEAN BAGS.

To refresh your bean bag lounger, brush off any loose dirt, use a gentle solution of warm soapy water to gently wash the fabric, avoid harsh household cleaners. Rinse thoroughly (hose down) and allow to dry naturally. Ensure your beanbag loungers dry out completely to prevent any chance of mould forming from moisture build up. By doing this, it ensures you can enjoy your lounger by improving its longevity in your home.

CUSHION COVERINGS.

All are engineered to combine the highest level of design and performance. Whilst the fabric is resistant to fading and moisture damage, we advise keeping cushions away from extended exposure to moisture and direct sunlight. Should cushions get wet, air dry prior to storage.

For easy maintenance or to remove light stains/spots from your fabric; Brush off loose dirt, spray on a mild non-abrasive household cleaning solution (water and soap) and gently wash with a soft bristle brush to clean. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric before rinsing thoroughly and removing all the soap residue. Air dry.

For heavy soiling we recommend you consult a professional fabric cleaner.

CERAMIC & RECONSTITUTED STONE.

Ceramic is a modern and easy to care for material due to its non-absorbent properties.

Using a microfibre cloth, wipe away any dirt on the surface prior to washing with a solution of mild soap and water. Always wipe the surface down after cleaning to remove any soap. Allow to air dry. For heavy staining we recommend you consult a professional fabric cleaner.

GLASS.

A glass surface outdoors typically attracts more dirt than an indoor glass surface. To keep your glass looking pristine wipe away any dirt with a soft microfibre cloth, wash with a mild soapy water solution, dry thoroughly prior to using your favourite glass cleaner to remove any streaks.

Follow the same steps to clean the under side of the glass. Avoid using any harsh scrubbing sponges or anything that could scratch the glass.

STACKING.

It is suggested that you do not move or store furniture that is stacked higher than the recommended stack height.

Over stacking of furniture could result in scratching, rubbing, wearing or breakage of the frame/wicker. This is not covered by Limited Warranty.

STAINLESS STEEL.

Stainless steel is a strong and modern metal with high corrosion resistant properties. Stainless steel is a bright surface and if appropriately maintained will continue to look brand new for many years.

It is important to note that stainless steel furniture is not totally impervious to corrosion and should be regularly cleaned. Infrequent cleaning can lead to small brown spots appearing on the surface of the steel. These brown surface ‘spots’ may be caused by air-borne pollutants in urban areas or from salty air near the coast. These discolorations are purely superficial and in no way affect the mechanical strength or integrity of the furniture.

For light cleaning (like finger prints and smudges) use a window cleaner. For stronger stains, you can use vinegar and buff the spots gently with a microfibre cloth. For heavy duty cleaning use a commercial stainless steel cleaner. Follow the instructions as noted on the product. To maintain your furniture, rub a light coat of ‘orange oil’ furniture polish (or similar) onto the surface after its been cleaned to prevent smudging and rust.

Maintenance cleaning should be done at least once every 2 months.

NEVER USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS. MAJOR SCRATCHES CAN BE REMOVED WITH A SCOTCHBRITE PAD AND WD40 SPRAY. ALWAYS WIPE WITH THE GRAIN OF THE STAINLESS STEEL.

TEAK.

Teak is a popular and highly recommended wood for outdoor furniture. Teak is a reliable and strong hardwood that offers many benefits over other natural materials. Its excellent durability, low maintenance, weatherproof properties and unmistakable good looks make this the perfect wood for your outdoor furniture.

Over time, the woods natural tendency will take on an elegant silvery-grey look which develops from the aging process and being exposed to natural weather conditions. The integrity of Teak wood is maintained throughout and does not degrade like other lesser natural materials.

IndoSoul Teak is of the highest quality and has a moisture content of no more than 12%. Teak has a natural resistance to mould and insects; however, regular cleaning will prevent mildew and unwanted discolouration. To clean, brush off loose dirt, use a mild soapy water solution (do not use detergent) with a soft bristle brush to clean. Never use a metal brush. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.

For tougher stains try a commercial teak cleaner following the product instructions.

To maintain the woods natural colour you may want to oil the teak with specialised teak oils. This method will slow down the natural weathering process and should be done every 2-3 months. Only oil the teak once it’s been cleaned and is completely dry. We recommend that you keep oiled furniture out of the direct sunlight.

To clean outdoor wicker, use a non-foaming cleaner with water, and use low-pressure fresh water to rinse. Wiping with a wet cloth, or one with a mild, non-foaming agent can clean textured outdoor wicker, but the texture may change slightly, instead, it’s recommended that you spray and rinse the outdoor wicker with clean, fresh water. Alcohol and oil-based cleaners are not recommended.
